Itinerary
Where do we go?
Bacalar is the "Lagoon of Seven Colors" for a real reason: water depth changes how sunlight reflects off the white limestone floor below, and the lagoon's exceptional clarity makes the effect even more visible.

Canal de los Piratas
An old Maya trade canal — in the 18th century, pirates like Peter Wallace used it to reach Bacalar in search of dyewood. That's where the name comes from.

Cenote Negro
One of the deepest points in the lagoon. At that depth, light gets absorbed differently and the water looks almost black instead of turquoise.

Cenote Esmeralda
So clear you can see the bottom from the pontoon. A favourite for swimming.

Bird Island
Natural bird sanctuary with native and migratory species. A peaceful stop in the middle of the lagoon.

Stromatolite zone
Structures built by bacteria over thousands of years — one of the most extensive freshwater microbialite systems in the world, and one of the few accessible to visitors.

Free-swim zones
Open time to swim in the seven colors and take photos. Everyone's favourite stop.

Cenote Cocalitos
A round, deep-water cenote with microbialite formations visible below, right off the highway.

No — Bacalar Lagoon is an ecologically sensitive area, and sunscreen affects the very colors that make it special. Help us take care of it by wearing a rash guard or UV-protective clothing instead.
Safety always comes first. If conditions are unsafe for sailing, we reschedule your tour at no extra cost or issue a full refund. We'll give you as much advance notice as possible.
Swimsuit, a change of light clothing, sunglasses, hat or cap, towel and ID. Want extra sun protection? Bring a long-sleeve rash guard or UV shirt — we'll take care of the rest.

Book directly on the website or message us on WhatsApp — whichever's easier for you. A 20% deposit locks in your spot; you pay the rest on the day of the tour, in cash (Mexican pesos) or by bank transfer.
Yes, the shared pontoon tour needs a minimum of 4 people to depart at the booked date and time. If you're only 3, you can complete the spot by paying an extra $100 MXN per person to guarantee departure.
Need to change your date? No cost if you give at least 2 days' notice. If you'd rather cancel outright, we refund 90% of your deposit (10% is retained for payment gateway and booking service fees).
